Thriving Places
A deeper connection to our local community.
At Canada Water, we’ve been working closely with the local community for a long time.

Our Thriving Places strategy brings together Canada Water’s businesses and local partners to mutually support, collaborate and change lives.
Since 2020, our social impact programme, a collaboration with local partners, our supply chain and our customers, has supported more than 11,000 local people through education, skills, employment, and community initiatives.

Here are just some of the ways we’re supporting our local community and making a positive social impact locally.
Designed with the community
Canada Water’s vision was shaped in close collaboration with local residents – and that commitment continues. We actively involve the community to ensure the area reflects local identity and aspirations.
Canada Water Connect
Our partnership with charity East London Business Alliance (ELBA), Canada Water Connect connects businesses with exceptional local talent and unlocks life-changing opportunities for Southwark residents.
Canada Water Connect finds new ways for all the businesses who call Canada Water home to support them with access to a skilled and diverse local talent pool; local service providers; and impactful volunteering opportunities.
Social infrastructure
We’ve created spaces and initiatives with charities, social enterprises, charities and community groups to deliver real benefits, including:
- Thrive (with Tree Shepherd): An incubator for local entrepreneurs, offering skills development and access to commercial opportunities.
- T&T2 (with Time & Talents): A vibrant space for social events and services, fostering cross-community connections.
- Paper Garden (with Global Generation): A nature-based learning hub built by the community, for the community.
Together, these efforts keep Canada Water inclusive and accessible.
