Our community partners Time & Talents have been active in the local area for 138 years, helping make sure everyone feels part of a community and no-one gets left behind. They offer a huge range of programmes and activities aimed at getting local people to connect with one another, with the volunteers sharing their time and their talents to help build an active, thriving neighbourhood.
British Land are proud to partner with Time & Talents, having done so for more than seven years. We provide a unit in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and cover utility bills, which is named T&T2. This is used by the group to offer activities in the heart of the community, and gives them a second base in addition to their main HQ at the Old Mortuary on St Marychurch St.
In the past year we’ve also funded several of their holiday programmes, including the Mischief Theatre project.

The Changing Table
Time & Talents are looking for anyone with a new baby to join them for their next intake of parents’ group The Changing Table, starting this month [FEBRUARY]. These small group sessions offer a chance to build friendships, learn helpful tips and tricks, and get regular support from a variety of skilled practitioners.

No Limits Dance
No Limits Dance is a movement class for anyone who loves to dance. It was founded in response local feedback garnered over the course of the year from Time & Talents’ quarterly Community Committee, where people said they wanted to see more accessible movement classes in the area. All skills and abilities welcome.

The Break Room
Adults of all ages are invited to join The Break Room for a free hot lunch, teas and coffees, and help with online forms or charging phones. Energy advice and a limited number of energy vouchers and warm packs (hat, gloves, scarf) are also available.

Beginners’ Tennis

Volunteer with Time & Talents
Since Victorian times, local people have shared their time and talents to help their fellow community members in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey. Volunteers are crucial to the success of Time & Talents and have always made an enormous contribution to the charity. In fact, the organisation was set up by volunteers in 1887, and their legacy continues to be at the heart of what it does.
For anyone interested in volunteering and being part of Time & Talents’ mission to reduce isolation and build social communities, the organisation has Befriending and Event opportunities open. They also work with a number of Corporate Volunteers who offer support across gardening, leading sessions and building maintenance.
