Surrey Quays Shopping Centre
Local charity Time & Talents is launching a new community hub at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, from where they will run a range of free older adults and children’s activities.
Please join them to celebrate the opening of the new hub on Friday 29 April, from 12-5pm. The programme of activities will include:
- 12pm – 1pm – Drop in to see the new community hub, hear what they are up to, have a cup of tea and a chat
- 1pm – 2.30pm – Older Adults drop-in activities hosted by T&T’s Friday Social group
- 3.30pm – 5pm – Crafty Beasts drop-in with the T&T Children and Families team. A fun, sociable arts & crafts group for families with kids.
Now in its 135th year, Time & Talents works to reduce loneliness and isolation and provide ways for people to connect and be part of the community. From parent and toddler sessions to gardening, exercise classes and a volunteer befriending service for older more isolated residents in Rotherhithe, there’s something for everyone.
Since 2017 we’ve provided Time & Talents with a second community space (known as T&T2) at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, in addition to their centre in St Marychurch Street, Rotherhithe Village. T&T2 is now moving to a different place in the Shopping Centre, on the ground floor between Card Factory and the Perfume Shop; so that we can continue to provide a community space at the heart of the shopping centre.
Find out about the range of free activities Time & Talents run on their website (www.timeandtalents.org.uk). The space is also available to hire to community groups when Time & Talents is not running events – if you are interested in hiring the space please email [email protected] or call 020 7231 7845.
