Bizzie Bodies

Local group Bizzie Bodies provide free learning opportunities for young people this August

Bizzie Bodies is a community interest group that organises workshops to encourage children to learn STEAM and language skills by stimulating their creativity.

We are supporting Bizzie Bodies’ fun and educational summer camps, providing activities for children and young people from SE16 to provide learning opportunities for all children in Canada Water, Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks.

The free summer camp features a host of different activities from Monday to Friday throughout August.  The first two weeks are aimed at 7- to 12-year-olds and the last two weeks are for 13- to 18-year-olds.

The summer camp is offering four main activities:

  • Sports days at the Docklands Settlements Centre in Rotherhithe
  • Arts and technology activities, including painting, videography, map making, sewing, repair and upcycling
  • Heritage workshops to explore the local heritage with storytelling at the Brunel Museum
  • Gardening classes focusing on sustainable gardening and forest school activities

The main aim for the summer camp is to help promote healthy creative learning activities for local children in a safe environment, offer respite for parents and support for working families in the area.
