Invitation to View Proposals for a New Cultural Venue at Printworks

For over six years, Printworks London operated as a world-renowned destination, establishing itself as one of the most celebrated music and culture spaces in the world.
In 2024, Southwark Council approved a Reserved Matters Application for a permanent cultural venue alongside a flexible workspace at the Printworks building (Plots H1 and H2).
Since then, British Land and the venue operator, Broadwick, have continued to develop the detailed design and operation of the building.
The updated proposals confirm Printworks as a permanent cultural venue, while refining the design to improve how the building looks and operates. The revised scheme proposes:
- A dedicated cultural venue, rather than the hybrid space previously proposed
- A more flexible internal layout to support a wider range of cultural, music and events programming
- Active ground-floor spaces that connect more clearly with Printworks Walk and the park
- A refined building form and façade that continue to reflect the site’s industrial character

The online exhibition will be live from Tuesday 12 May. To view it, visit cwm.exhibition.app
This will provide all the information related to our proposals for this site, and also provide you an opportunity to leave comments, with the survey closing at midnight on Tuesday 26 May.
Following the engagement period, we will prepare a Reserved Matters Application for the site, which we plan to submit to Southwark Council in the summer.
